Member Profile
The Village Development Committee is actively pursuing the agenda for holistic and sustainable development of the community of Aben. The VDC is comprised of 15 members including traditional village leadership, women leaders and youth leaders. The VDC is committed to experimenting with different models of agriculture in order to replace the traditional shifting cultivation which is no longer seen as viable and sustainable. The VDC is also actively engaging with various stakeholders including the District Administration in order to find solutions to the many problems such as poor education, health, communication among others. A long term vision and development plan is under preparation.
Mr. Ditung Kuame, the current VDC Secretary is a traditional shifting cultivator. He has experience with working on development issues and is now implementing the SALT Demonstration model on his land.
