Galine Yanon, is Post-doctoral Research Scientist at the Walker Institute – University of Reading. Prior to coming to the University of Reading, Galine works as Expert for a World Bank Project in West Africa and based in Dakar (Senegal). Galine defended his PhD at Universite Cheikh Anta Diop Dakar/ SENEGAL with honor, and earned certificates from Agrhymet Regional centre in Niamey, Centre de Recherche en Climatology, University of Bourgogne/ France, IRI-Columbia University in New York; Galine have developed research activities in the area of Climate Change, Impacts and adaptation, agro-meteorology and risk assessment, Agriculture Index Insurance. Thanks to extensive field experience in several countries (Chad, Benin, Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Niger, Senegal) and interaction with various stakeholders, Galine have developed a thorough understanding of the local socio-economic constraints and current challenges in Sahel region.
