Tamara van 't Wout is a disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) specialist with a focus on food security and climate-smart agriculture. She has been consulting for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where she is engaging in project design, formulation and management, conducting research and policy analysis and developing and undertaking capacity building trainings. She has over 10-years of work experience focused on Africa, Asia and Southeastern Europe. Her interests vary from good practices and technologies for DRR in agriculture, community-based DRR and adaptation approaches, to risk transfer, social protection schemes and risk reduction along the food value chain. Prior to FAO, she worked for several NGOs. She has Master degrees in Human Development & Food Security and International Relations.
