I'm a 73-year-old engineering male who learned without a degree.  My whole life was and still is based on building, repairing, designing and using equipment from Aircraft Engine Parts to Z-Vent Valves.  You will be a unique person if you ever get to work on a successful project that no one has ever seen or heard off,  patented first not modified to be better, discovered first and perfected it to a commercial value, completely thought of and made it a commercial success.
