Dr. Erten graduated from Boğaziçi University Faculty of Engineering in 1988. She completed her graduate studies at Rutgers University in USA in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She worked as a research fellow at Princeton University. While working as a licenced Civil Engineer for AECOM and BOVIS Lend Lease in Los Angeles, she lectured at USC. Upon her return from USA she worked as the director of Clinton Climate Initative for Clinton Foundation. Dr. Erten is the co-founder of Turkish Green Building Council and served on the Board as President and Vice President. She received the President’s Award given by World Green Building Council for her outstanding contributions to the global sustainability movement. She later was selected to attend the executive program at Harvard University’s Public School of Health on “Leadership in Sustainability” and completed the program in 2015.As a woman entrepreneur, she is the founder of TURKECO Green Academy and Consulting. TURKECO has been the first Turkish firm ever elected to serve on US Green Building Council’s Board. Along with her work, she has been teaching as an adjunct faculty on sustainable buildings at Boğaziçi and Medipol Universities. She is a P.E., LEED Faculty, WELL Faculty, BREEAM AP, Communities and In-Use assessor and a DGNB Consultant. In 2016, she became the recipient of BREEAM Fellow award given by British Research Establishment in UK. She also taught NGO Management and Fundraising Strategies for NGOs at Koç and Sabancı Business Schools.Besides private sector, her involvement in international and national NGOs includes: President of Turkish GBC, Vice President of Turkish GBC, President of International Relations and GREEN Schools Program of Turkish GBC, and an EU funded project BUILDUPON spokesperson on behalf of Turkish GBC. She serves on the LEED International Committee, and technical advisor to World GBC Committees.  Office: Los Angeles, İstanbul
