Judges'' comments

This proposal is very interesting and innovative and addresses one of the main bottlenecks for climate resilience which is linked to individual awareness and behaviour and the needed for shifting paradigms to manage risks rather than manage disasters. It would need further work on its feasibility for the development of a global generic script that can then be tailored and localized on demand with the multifaceted aspects of the climate risks and local livelihoods where the film or drama is to be used. However, along the three A2R pillars, this proposal would ideally fit into the "Reshape" pillar which will be used for the third dedicated contest round. Climate resilience reshape work is "the capacity to reshape development pathways by transforming economies to reduce risks and root causes of vulnerabilities and support the sound management of physical infrastructure and ecosystems to foster climate resilience" (see www.a2rinitiative.org). We highly encourage you to re-submit your proposal for the Reshape contest.

Please elaborate extensively on how the proposed solutions can help communities anticipate climate hazards

While the proposal is innovative, the Judges felt it needed further work in terms of feasibility for the development of a generic global script that could then be tailored for local contexts.

The proposal should add a testing phase for 3 countries with 3 specific local areas in each, and tailored to most dominant climate shocks of that areas and to the local language and indigenous knowledge. Additional information on the test phase related costing and timing and monitoring elements would also be necessary.
