I agree with the proposers that international travel is uniquely mind-opening for youth. Thus a six-week trip focused on climate issues would have a large impact on the participants. The proposers have addressed the concern about GHG emissions from travel by a plan to purchase carbon offsets. They further intend to serve vegetarian food. The plan is quite well-written and the organizers clearly have the experience to implement their plan.
Really nothing new in this concept, there are literally hundreds of such initiatives globally, mentoring youth, youth exchange programmes, youth delegations to UNFCCC CoPS etc. The proposal also does not pull together other CCoLAb proposals as required.

This is a very interesting proposal. It is well-written and clear and very appealingly simple. I found it difficult to justify 25+ people traveling (emitting CO2) to learn about climate change, though I recognize that this may be necessary. Could participants maybe take on some useful activities in each place they visit to attempt to mitigate these impacts?
