A political scientist by training, Matto is a PhD candidate at the School of Forestry and Environment, Yale University. He studies comparative climate policy and the dynamics of public opinion about climate change. Matto directs the Program on Climate Governance and Policy in the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies' Governance, Environment and Markets (GEM) lab, and is affiliated with the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication.
