Claudia Giacovelli is Associate Programme Management Officer at the UN Environment International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC), based in Osaka Japan. Her focus is to develop and implement technical cooperation projects to promote the uptake of environmentally sound technologies and approaches, as a way to achieve social, economic and environmental benefits.
Her background is in development economics and social sciences. Since 2010 and prior to UNEP, Claudia has served for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in South Africa, as part of the energy and climate change branch, working on projects aimed at mitigating the impacts of climate change while fast-tracking the transition towards a low carbon economy.
