MIT 100% Net Zero at No Added Cost! MIT is hereby challenged. by Net Zero Foundation
Bill Ferree Oct 22, 2015 11:44 ![]() | It is a reachable goal. Go for it. The University's target of 30% reduction by 2030 seems weak, a disappointment. |
Quinton Zondervan Oct 30, 2015 04:37 ![]() | Proposal contributor I love this proposal and have been a huge proponent of net zero in Cambridge, helping the city get to its current 25 year net zero plan. However, your proposal is short on specifics as to how it would engage MIT alumni :-) I think I can help with that. Let me know. |
Hans Joachim Preiss Nov 3, 2015 03:01 ![]() | Net-zero energy has been achieved thousands of times in stand-alone buildings. But some buildings can never get there, for instance historic structures, if there is not enough roof space for the required PV, or the building's location or orientation, etc. A simple solution would be to expand net-zero metering to multiple buildings, the neighborhood, or a city block. College campuses with their many different types of energy loads are great candidates for achieving net-zero as well, especially because they can be metered altogether. What a terrific opportunity! |
Jacob Hollander Nov 20, 2015 05:17 ![]() | This sounds right in line with my previous "Providing light and air conditioning without electricity" proposal, this is a great way to lead the way forward and I'm 100% on board and will help however I can regardless if you give me premission. Sorry. :) <3 u |
