But some buildings can never get there, for instance historic structures, if there is not enough roof space for the required PV, or the building's location or orientation, etc. A simple solution would be to expand net-zero metering to multiple buildings, the neighborhood, or a city block. College campuses with their many different types of energy loads are great candidates for achieving net-zero as well, especially because they can be metered altogether. What a terrific opportunity! |
